Amanda Eliasch
Amanda Eliasch is a visionary English filmmaker, photographer, poet, and artist renowned for her bold, introspective storytelling that seamlessly weaves together fashion, art, and cinema.
Born in Beirut, Lebanon, in 1960 and raised in London by her grandfather—the legendary film director Sidney Gilliat—Amanda discovered her passion for the arts early on. A graduate of the Academy of Live and Recorded Arts, she has built a multifaceted career marked by raw honesty and creative fearlessnes.
Her journey includes acclaimed photography exhibitions like Three Way Mirror (Cork Street Gallery, 1999) and Peep (Proud Gallery, 2001), as well as evocative poetry collections: Cloak & Dagger Butterfly (2008) and Sins of a Butterfly (2010).
Eliasch's directorial debut, the award-winning The Gun, The Cake and The Butterfly (2013), is a jarringly frank documentary-drama drawn from her own life, poetry, and theatrical works. Hailed for its unflinching intimacy, the film garnered international acclaim, including honors at festivals in Ischia, New York, Burbank, and La Jolla.
Since 2008, she has channeled her cinematic eye into high fashion as editor for Genlux Magazine, fusing glamour with profound artistic depth.
